Cuvintele sau versurile auzite greșit (și reținute așa) au un nume frumos în engleză: Mondegreen.
“Hearing is a two-step process. First, there is the auditory perception itself: the physics of sound waves making their way through your ear and into the auditory cortex of your brain. And then there is the meaning-making: the part where your brain takes the noise and imbues it with significance. That was a car alarm. That’s a bird. Mondegreens occur when, somewhere between the sound and the meaning, communication breaks down. You hear the same acoustic information as everyone else, but your brain doesn’t interpret it the same way.”
Interpretările astea paronimizate și involuntare (nu zic greșite) pot fi totuși semnale pe care ni le trimite creierul nostru când are chef de joacă. Mi se pare foarte mișto un exemplu celebru de mondegreen: Bob Dylan credea că-n I want to hold your hand, Beatles cântau de zor I get high, I get high, I get high:
“Brian [Epstein, band’s manager] and the Beatles looked at each other apprehensively. ‘We’ve never smoked marijuana before,’ Brian finally admitted. Dylan looked disbelievingly from face to face. “But what about your song?’ he asked. ‘The one about getting high?’ The Beatles were stupefied. ‘Which song?’ John managed to ask. Dylan said, ‘You know…’ and then he sang, ‘and when I touch you I get high, I get high…’ John flushed with embarrassment. ‘Those aren’t the words,’ he admitted. ‘The words are, ‘I can’t hide, I can’t hide, I can’t hide…’”
Și așa au fumat Beatleșii iarbă pentru prima dată, cu Bob Dylan, capul răutăților.

După ce au râs ținându-se de burtă ascultând prețiozitățile criticilor de artă, artiștii au dezvăluit misterul într-un ziar. Se pare că opera poate fi văzută și azi, la Espace culturel Paul Bédu.
– The Winston Fletcher Fiction Prize e un premiu pentru care se pot întrece între ei creatorii publicitari. Competiția de scris ficțiuni scurte (< 4000 de cuvinte) a fost promovată anul ăsta cu niște vizualuri foarte faine, cu bătaie de obraz spre clienții care dau feedback-uri suprarealiste:
